Pro-Democratic Forces Reinforce Famed Skyscraper Stronghold Amid Fascist Advance in Acadia
A 4 km-tall skyscraper at the heart of the besieged Fontclair Megalopolis—site of a legendary stand during the Acadian Wars—is expected to see combat again as Axis-backed fascist forces push the front lines deeper into the city.
Fontclair officials offered no comment on images captured by freelancers in the area, which appeared to show thousands of ATGMs, drones, and small arms being unloaded on a landing pad connected to the “Tour Saint-Veran” Skyscraper Complex.
This follows independent satellite imagery showing renewed military engineering in the area, including new trenchworks and urban fortifications spreading outwards from the skyscraper complex. Previously, the building was being used as a command center.
Our Analysis: Fontclair, former jewel of the Acadian Federation, is still a battlefield even after the end of the Acadian Wars. A civil war turned proxy conflict between democratic Acadia and Axis backed Castine, the system is widely seen as a preview of the next wider conflict.
During the Acadian Wars, the National Republic of Castine famously failed to take the Fontclair Megalopolis, in no small part due to the “Veran Fortress” that repelled multiple armoured columns and air attacks in several dramatic battles.
What Castine has failed to accomplish in its own war, it is now attempting through proxy forces. Together with Axis allies, the National Republic has heavily backed a Fontclair populist regime that emerged immediately after the armistice.
Do you think democratic forces will be able to hold onto their positions in the Veran Fortress and Fontclair? Does this indicate a wider Axis advantage across the Acadian Expanse? Your comments and insights are appreciated.
