IJN Moves Warships, Troops, To Orinoco Fleetbase In Show Of Force
The Imperial Japanese Navy’s largest starbase in the Orinoco has been reinforced with as many as two hundred additional warships over the last few weeks, in what analysts suspect is likely a show of force preceding military action.
The deployment comes as the Japanese government & Sphere officials have vowed retaliation against what they have labeled “terrorist” elements in the region. Though not mentioned directly, the National Liberation Front of Vietnam is certainly the primary target.
Our Analysis: The scale and speed of the mobilization at the IJN’s Daikoku Lagoon Fleetbase suggest preparations for a major military operation rather than a symbolic response. Similar deployments preceded strikes against Vietcong targets in 2283 and 2279.
