NCU Suspends Byblos Spire Research Amid Rising Piracy in Calypso Deeps

The University of New California will pause on-site research into the Byblos Spire and surrounding alien ruins amid escalating piracy in the Calypso Deeps. Previously, the NCU had administered and been a major source of personnel for a Templin–Keppe funded research station.

Xenoarchaeologists have been drawn to Byblos after the discovery of a towering obelisk rising from its primal, deadly jungle. Half-flooded alien ruins have since been discovered across its surface, attracting mercenaries and pirates that use the structures as makeshift outposts.
