Nomadic Fleet “Midnight Run” Enters Lyran Veil After Years in the Co-Prosperity Sphere
Nearly ten thousand spacecraft from the “Midnight Run,” one of the Orion Arm’s largest permanent nomadic fleets, are set to enter the Lyran Veil. Leading elements of the massive flotilla began passing through the Garuda System en route to the Tannhauser Gate.
Our Analysis: Nomadic fleets may consist of dozens to thousands of starships that travel together as convoys and communities. Though individual ships and captains may join or depart at will, the largest fleets can become self-sustaining and a boon for local economies.
Midnight Run is known for its political neutrality, and its spontaneous, sometimes haphazard course across the Orion Arm has brought it through each of the major blocs. It most recently passed through the New Canaan Corridor after nearly half a decade in the Co-Prosperity Sphere.
Importers in the Veil are looking forward to an influx of Japanese specialty agricultural goods, high-end ceramics, and biotextiles, which can be difficult to obtain otherwise. Many rely on fleets like the Midnight Run to bypass tariffs and operate outside conventional trade networks.
